BANANA BELT BEACH BASH -- 3 days/2 nights in Phan Thiet, Vietnam's year 'round tropical paradise

Asia's gay travel pioneers, offering Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, India and China

Just three hours from Ho Chi Minh City is a little pocket of sunshine where rain clouds seldom venture. Phan Thiet's Mui Me Beach is a long ribbon of glorious sand, turquoise water, and thick groves of coco palms. Nearby you will find temple ruins, sand dunes, picturesque fishing villages and delightful seaside restaurants. The local night life may surprise you! Although our basic package is two nights, most guests stay longer. You have the flexibility to stay as long as you like. Our hotels offer private bungalows right on the beach. Plan for a BANANA BELT BEACH BASH when you visit south Vietnam.

DAY 1

Depart from Saigon early this morning by private car and driver. Our guide will be along to keep you company, explain the sights, and translate when necessary. Arrive in Phan Thiet before lunch. Along the way you will have a quick look at old Phan Thiet town. The narrow river here is clogged with brightly-painted fishing boats that are surely worth a photo or two. Your afternoon is free to enjoy the beach or just be lazy under a palm tree. If you like, our guide will give you a look at the local nightlife. Every night is Saturday night in Phan Thiet.

DAY 2

How about wind surfing? A good book and some cold beer on the beach? A little sightseeing? Or maybe eighteen holes at nearby Ocean Dunes, one of Vietnam's finest courses. It may be hard to decide. Our guide and driver will gladly show you the local sights, which include a Cham temple ruin and a sea of sand dunes that look like they were brought straight from the Sahara. If you have not packed your dancing shoes, we'll take you out for another look at Phan Thiet's disco scene.

DAY 3

You are on your own this morning. Unless you plan to stay longer, we'll whisk you back to Saigon after lunch. Better yet, continue to delightful Dalat en route to Saigon.

TET Holiday 2008: We regret that we can not accept Vietnam reservations during the period February 2 through 7, 2008 due to the TET (Vietnamese New Year) Holiday. Since it is considered unlucky to work during this period, practically everything closes and some prices double. We do not recommend visiting during this time because there are no public festivities and visitors are left with almost nothing to do.
